Your interest in my herd means a lot to me.
I take pride in making my customers happy. I believe that since you spend your time and money shopping for the perfect goat to buy, you should be happy with it. I will take pictures of any goat and any angle you would like to see; just ask. I would also like to match the right home for an animal so if you tell me what improvements you’re looking for and what faults you can’t live with, I’ll see if I can help you!
I also like to know how my animals are doing in other herds so please don’t hesitate to send me updates!
Reserving A Kid
At this time, I am NOT taking doeling reservations. However, I am taking reservations for bucklings. I'm allowing buckling reservations because I will possibly retain only one buckling next year or none at all. Here are the reasons why I am not taking doeling reservations:
1. I need a lot of time to evaluate the kids and since I'm indecisive, I don’t want to feel like I’m being rushed to make a decision.
2. It takes a while for the kids to “unfold” where they can be evaluated better. It’s kind of hard to choose which one you want to keep when they are wobbly and don’t have their legs under them very well yet. :)
3. I try to keep three doelings each year and since my does are kidding from Febuary to April, it makes it difficult to decide who to retain and who to sell when they aren’t all born yet.
To reserve a buckling from a breeding, you are required to put down a $100 nonrefundable deposit. You can choose to either put down a deposit for
A. a first choice kid or
B. a first and second choice kid.
If you choose option A, you would indicate that you are interested in one breeding and one breeding only. If the buckling of your choice isn’t born, you can either transfer your deposit to a different breeding or kid that has no reservations, hold it over for next year, or I can refund your deposit. If you choose option B, you would indicate that you would be happy with a kid from two different breedings but you would prefer a kid from your 1st choice. If the 1st choice kid isn’t born, the deposit would automatically move to your 2nd choice kid. However, if neither your 1st or 2nd choices are born, you could transfer your deposit to another breeding or kid that isn’t reserved, hold it over for next year, or I can refund your deposit. I will only take deposits on one buckling reservation for each breeding. The only exception is that your 2nd choice can be for a second buckling reservation. If you put a reservation down for a buckling, I will notify you whether it's available or not as soon as I know. If I don't hear back from you in 24 hours, I will try and contact you again. If I don't hear back from you 3 days after I first notified you, your deposit will be forfeited and the buckling will be put up for sale.
Any kid (including doelings) that is not reserved or retained will be listed for sale on the website. If you are interested in a doeling of a certain breeding, check back often, especially around the kidding date. I will not keep a waiting list so you are responsible for checking the website frequently. If paying with a check, the full price of an animal is due at least a week before they are to be picked up. This is so I have time to make sure the check clears the bank before the animal leaves our farm. If paying with cash, the full price is due when the animal is to be picked up.
Discounts
I would really love to see my animals in homes that show, participate in linear appraisal, and milk test. For this reason, I’m offering discounts on herds that do just that. We have sold animals before to “show homes” just to find out that our goats were solely pasture ornaments! There is no way I can be sure that once you buy an animal you will appraise or show or milk test it, but if you have participated in at least two of three programs (showing, linear appraisal, milk test) within the past two years, you qualify for a $25 discount for every animal you buy with a maximum discount of $100.
If you are a repeat customer, you’re in luck! You will get an additional $25 off the whole purchase.
Please Note: I do not offer discounts on semen unless stated.
Discounts are only applicable to goats with the Windscape herd name.
Registration
All kids will be registered online when they are born. In most cases, I will name them myself, but I welcome any suggestions. I want the buyer to be happy with the kid’s name. I like to keep certain themes within lines and I like to name the animals so I know exactly who is going where. It is very possible that I may have a list of names that the buyer can choose from. I will try to have registration papers in hand when a kid is being picked up by its new owners, but I may have to mail papers in some cases.
Boarding
All animals must be picked up by one month of the sale date or the buyer will be charged $2 per day for boarding fees.
Shipping
We prefer not to ship and we encourage you to pick up your kid if at all possible. However, shipping and ground transport are possible. We will not ship adult animals or kids over 50 pounds. The buyer is responsible for all costs including the shipping fee, crate, health papers, and all other applicable costs.
Guarantees
1. No animal will be sold with registration papers that has a disqualifying fault such as extra teats or large white spots.
2. I will not sell black bucks with registration papers.
3. I guarantee a buck to be fertile. If he has not settled a doe and he is over one year of age, the price of the animal will be refunded or he can be replaced with an animal of equal quality. Extra costs such as shipping charges will not be refunded. The buyer must send me a document from a veterinarian stating that the buck is sterile.
Rights
1. I have the right to retain any animal in my breeding program.
2. I have the right to purchase 20 straws of semen from ANY buck I sell, even if I'm not his breeder, at the cost of collection.
3. I have the right to refuse to sell any animal I think is unworthy of being registered, even if there was a reservation on it. I will try to match up the best possible breeding pairs I can, but most likely the kids won’t always turn out how I expect. Genetics are a funny thing and you never know what you might get. If there is a reservation on a kid I’m hesitant about, I will discuss it with the buyer.
